Introducing Relume CMS
Today we're launching Relume CMS, so you can manage the content that repeats across your site, like blogs, case studies, team pages and changelogs, without leaving Relume. Change it once and it updates everywhere, with no code.
Realistically, that kind of content usually means either hard coding every page or wiring up a CMS once the design is done. With Relume CMS it's built in from the start, so your collections, template pages and components stay connected the whole time you're designing.
In the demo video below, Nick walks through a site built with CMS, from importing content to swapping layouts and publishing. If you'd rather skim, we've summarised what CMS is, why we built it and how it works below.
What is Relume CMS?
Relume CMS is where the repeating content on your site lives. Each type of content, like blog posts or customer stories, gets its own collection, and every item in that collection sits in a grid where you can click in and edit it.
Collections can also have sub collections, which are lists that belong inside an item, like lessons inside a course. And every collection automatically gets a template page, so you design one page and every item follows it.
You'll find CMS at the top right of the editor, next to Share. If you've selected a component that's connected to a collection, you'll also see Edit CMS, which takes you straight to its content.
Why we built it
Most sites have content that repeats, and for a lot of the businesses you build for, that content is what keeps a site alive after launch. A blog, a set of case studies or a team page is usually what a client wants to update most, and it's also the part that's hardest to hand over.
We wanted CMS to feel like part of the design process rather than a step that comes after it. Because every collection is connected to components from the Relume system, you can change the design as often as you like without anything breaking, and your content just follows.
It also needed to be quick to fill. An empty collection isn't much use, so we've made sure you can get real content in within minutes, whether you write it, generate it or bring it across from a site that already exists.
Get your content in, three ways
You can add items one by one and write them yourself, ask the Agent to fill out a collection based on your brief, or import content from an existing website. In the demo, a single prompt pulls 12 blog posts from a live site into a collection, with all of their content.
That last one is the part we think will save the most time, especially if you're moving a client across from another platform.
Design once, every item follows
Every collection gets a template page automatically. Design that one page and every item in the collection uses it, so a blog with 50 posts is still just one design to look after.
You can preview the template with any item, step through all of them, and check how they look on mobile before you publish.
Swap layouts without reconnecting anything
This is the bit we're most excited about. Select a component that's connected to a collection, click Swap component, and scroll through every layout in the library. Pick one and it stays connected to your CMS, so there's no reconnecting fields or remapping content.
Edits work the same way. Remove an avatar or a button from one item and it's removed from every item, because it's one design for the whole collection.
Connected everywhere
You can see exactly where your content is being used. In the Sitemap, a collection icon marks every page and component connected to the CMS, and hovering it tells you which collection. On the canvas, connected components are highlighted in the Layers panel with the same icon.
Add CMS to an existing site
If you've already built a site in Relume, there's no need to start over. Select a component to see if it's available for CMS, then connect it to a collection or create one. You can also add a CMS component from the Insert panel and, if needed, create a collection on the spot with content generated from your brief.
From there you can change how many items show and how many columns they sit in.
Publish just your content
When you update content in CMS, you don't need to republish the whole site. Click Publish from inside CMS and only your content goes live.
Get started
Relume CMS is available now on every Relume site at no extra cost. Open any project and click the CMS icon in the top bar to create your first collection. The [help article] walks you through each step.
If you’re building with Publish MCP, you can also create collections and manage your content straight from Claude or ChatGPT.
Coming next
This is just the start. Teams, testimonials and FAQ collections are coming soon, and sub collections will soon be shareable, so the same list can be used in more than one place. Give CMS a go and keep the feedback coming at nick@relume.com, because it genuinely shapes what we build next.
