How to Bring a Relume Export Project into Relume Publish
By the end of this doc, you'll be able to:
- Understand what comes across when you move an Export project into Publish
- Bring a Relume Export project into Relume Publish with its URL
- Review and refine the site Publish rebuilds
- Publish the rebuilt site on Relume hosting
Overview
If you planned a site in Relume Export, you don't have to start again to use Relume Publish. Paste your Export project's URL into Publish, and Relume brings in everything from the project, such as your sitemap and copy, then rebuilds the site from there with full visual design and hosting.
Publish rebuilds your site rather than copying it, so it won't look identical to your Export project. It uses Publish's components and design tools, and in most cases the result is better than where you left off.
Before You Begin
- A Relume Export project you want to bring across.
- Access to Relume Publish. Export and Publish are separate subscriptions, so an Export plan doesn't include Publish.
Bring Your Export Project into Publish
Copy Your Export Project's URL
- Open your project in Relume Export.
- Copy the URL from your browser's address bar.
Start a Publish Project from It
- Switch to Publish using the product menu in the top-left corner.
- Start a new project.
- Paste your Export project's URL when Relume asks what you're building.
- Review the Brief Relume writes from your Export project, and answer any questions it asks.
- Generate your Sitemap, Wireframe and Design.
Review the Rebuilt Site
Check each tab before you publish, because Publish makes its own choices as it rebuilds.
- Sitemap: make sure every page from your Export project is there, and add any that are missing.
- Wireframe: check each page's sections and copy, and swap any component that doesn't fit.
- Design: set your logo, colours and fonts in the style guide, so the whole site matches your brand.
Tip: Ask Relume AI for changes in the chat as you review, for exampleAdd the pricing page from my Export projectorMake the homepage hero shorter.
Publish Your Site
When you're happy with the site, click Publish in the top-right corner and follow the steps. Your site goes live on a free Relume address, and you can connect your own domain on a paid Launch plan.
Tips & Best Practices
Tip: Your Export project stays as it is. Bringing it into Publish creates a new project, so you can compare the two or keep working in Export.
Tip: The more complete your Export project is, the better the rebuild. Finish your sitemap and copy in Export first if you can.
